Reading GLB (#3) in English

The other day, I finally received a Gothic Lolita Bible I could read, not just flip through. I suppose I would love more Japanese content, but overall, there was a good mix of the "local" lolita content and Japanese. But it feels weird paying money to see pictures and photoshoots of people I already see from [info]egl, haha. Still, this issue featured an amazing photoshoot from these girls in England I really liked, and I was happy to see it again. I hope feature photoshoots or coverage will reflect this level of effort, too, not just people taking random snapshots in their backyard or something.

Another thing was, a lot of the articles I've skimmed through so far are interview style! It would be nice to just get some more solid articles in there, because (1) the interviewers often ask really generic, boring questions (oh, why are you into lolita...) and (2) some of the interviewees have pretty boring answers. x_x It's wonderful I get to read about new things though. I just hope they don't end up narrowing themselves to the same generic content as the breadth of topics that would appeal to lolitas is almost never ending.

Of course, the most important thing...the brand picture/swag coverage was fairly decent. Not as many picture and items as the Japanese GLB, I think (and I haven't checked if the items are actually up to date, but I'd assume they are). One problem is with some of the ads. I don't get why there even is a Candy Violet ad because they seldomly update their shop, and so their "ad" is really just a collection of items that've been there since who-knows-when. There are (non-Japanese brand) shops who deserve more of a spotlight and I'd love to see, even if they weren't there first...

Overall, I'm really happy with my GLB, and can't wait to buy another one (but not until I'm done reading this one!)

Today, I went to the post office to pick up my package. I also paid $60 in customs...give me a break! Obviously, I'm definitely not getting lucky packs this year. Taxes I can understand, but the duty part is hardly fair. It's not like you can buy this in my country, and it's not like I'm importing it for sale. Boo! :( But all in all, I do like my dress. It's the Marie Antoinette Jumperskirt in Pink, and it came in perfect condition. I tried it on, along with the small "petticoat" it came with and it's literally just got that perfect shape without having to add a real petticoat, and because it's separate, I can use it for my other outfits when I don't want a lot of poof. YEAH! ♥

This weekend was also a lot busier than I had anticipated, so I didn't get to make my sales post as I had hoped. But since I am not purchasing anything online anyway, it's alright if I don't have extra money. Still, my closet is filling up and I can't wait til I can get the time to get everything out...

Day ~ 2!

Today was a pretty quiet day.

After midterms, I didn't do much but reminisce over how I flunked it.

Tomorrow, the don's offering up pancakes, I have to do groceries, and start an assignment. Normally, I wouldn't be that keen, but I don't want to fail that either, or piss my group members off... I guess.

Oh no. x_x

My midterms are this week. :S

And I don't know what happened to my weekend!!

I can't wait til these two weeks are over though. I've made up my mind...I'm definitely not staying on campus. Well, that and I am running out of food, and I am expecting a package (a wizard of OZ sweater! hehehe.)

I think I like this username more. ;)
